Customers don’t judge a company when things run smoothly. They remember how a company  shows up when they need help. In those high-stakes moments, what matters is not just how quickly an inquiry is acknowledged; it is whether the problem is actually resolved.

We are proud to share that Gartner has recognized Zendesk as a Leader in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for CRM Customer Engagement Center for the second consecutive year.

Along with Zendesk being named a Leader earlier this year in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Agentic AI-Enabled Customer Service 2026 Vendor Assessment*, we believe this continued recognition reflects a clear shift in enterprise software. The industry is changing from legacy SaaS ticketing to autonomous, AI-driven service, and we are leading the way. For our teams, it reinforces a core philosophy that now guides everything we build: customer service must be designed around complete and measurable business outcomes, not superficial deflection.

Moving Beyond Deflection: The Autonomous Service Workforce

For years, customer service automation was treated as a barrier to keep customers away from human teams. But deflecting a customer without solving their underlying issue doesn't build loyalty but rather erodes it.

At Zendesk, we designed the Autonomous Service Workforce around a fundamentally different conviction, that service should solve problems end to end.

We didn't take legacy SaaS workflows and bolt conversational wrappers onto them. Instead, we built a true System of Action. Powered by our Resolution Platform and trained on roughly 20 billion real-world service interactions, our architecture unites specialized AI agents, copilots, connected knowledge, and human expertise into a single, cohesive engine. It enables AI to reason through nuanced, multi-step requests and to execute actions across disparate enterprise systems, while ensuring human teams remain firmly in control of complex, high-empathy moments.

The Autonomous Service Workforce in Practice

When we look across our customer base today, we see this paradigm fundamentally changing how work gets done. We now have specialized agents capable of executing business logic directly in core systems. Whether automatically resolving complex e-commerce fulfillment exceptions with pre-built Industry Agents or building bespoke operational flows via our no-code Agent Builder, the appetite for true autonomy has exceeded our expectations. In just seven weeks post-launch, our customers ran over 1 million Custom Agent executions, proving that they are ready to trust AI with real, backend workflows.

Our Autonomous Service Workforce isn't confined to a web chat bubble. We bring voice, digital channels, and internal operations into the exact same orchestration layer. In Zendesk Contact Center, our Voice AI Agents now conduct live spoken conversations across 53 languages, taking real-time action in third-party tools and executing context-rich handoffs to human agents. Paired with Real-Time Voice Translation, global teams can now support customers across languages natively and effortlessly.

And by extending these same agentic capabilities to internal teams via Slack and Microsoft Teams, 300 early-access customers have already executed 6 million employee service workflows, returning roughly 500,000 hours of productive focus back to their businesses.**

What Sets Our Platform Apart for Enterprise Leaders

As CIOs and executive buying committees evaluate their AI strategy, the focus has shifted from experimental pilots to durable enterprise readiness. Our position in the Leaders Quadrant we believe reinforces three core design principles that set Zendesk apart:

  • Outcome-based Pricing: Enterprise leaders are wary of unpredictable AI costs and opaque credit consumption models. We believe service software should align directly with business value delivered, and we anchor our innovation on driving resolutions and clear customer ROI.

  • Rapid Time-to-Value Over Custom Code: Moving upmarket should not require multi-year professional services deployments or fragile custom integrations. We build enterprise-grade intelligence to be configurable, extensible, and deployable in days, not quarters, so we scale with our customers’ businesses.

  • Governed Autonomy & Trust: With centralized policy controls, enterprise data privacy, and automated QA evaluating 100% of human and AI interactions, enterprise leaders can scale agentic workflows with total security and compliance.

Momentum for What’s Next

For us, being evaluated as a Leader for the second consecutive year is meaningful recognition of our team’s velocity and the trust our customers place in us.

Our focus remains on moving service from reactive firefighting to proactive, continuous improvement. By coupling advanced reasoning with deep enterprise integrations and essential human judgment, we continue delivering innovation that turns exceptional service into a lasting competitive advantage.

Thank you to our global team, our partners, and above all, our customers who innovate alongside us every day.
