About this app
The dashboard for this exact customer, filtered and in the ticket, from the BI tool you already use. Panewell shows your Looker Studio, Looker, Metabase, Tableau, Power BI or Grafana dashboards in the Zendesk sidebar and fills in the filter for the customer on screen: their external ID, email, account number, organization, or any ticket, user or organization field. Agents see plan, usage, invoices and health for the person they are answering, without leaving the ticket or asking someone for a report.
Panewell is built by Great Work LLC. It is not made or endorsed by Zendesk.
Paste a link, Panewell does the rest
Paste the link from your BI tool's share or embed dialog. Panewell recognizes the tool and turns it into the link that can be shown in Zendesk.
- Pick the filter: the BI tool's parameter on the left, a Zendesk value on the right, such as
customer_id = Customer: external IDorCustomers/Email = Customer: email. Panewell writes it the way each tool reads it: report parameters for Looker Studio, query filters for Metabase, Looker and Tableau, filter=for Power BI,var-variables for Grafana. - Preview on a real ticket, user or organization before you save, with the exact link, the values it used and the dashboard as agents will see it.
Where it shows, and for whom
- Ticket sidebar, user profile, organization profile, and a full-page Panewell view in the navigation bar for team dashboards (filtered by the signed-in agent if you like).
- Several dashboards become tabs; only the open one loads.
- Show a dashboard only on tickets of certain brands, only to certain agent groups, or only when a value matches (for example when the organization's plan is Enterprise).
- Height presets from 260 to 860 px, and Open full size for a new browser tab.
- Link buttons too: one click to the customer in your admin tool, CRM or billing system, with the same values filled in.
Safe by design
- Never the wrong customer's numbers. If a value a filter needs is empty (a requester with no external ID), Panewell says so and does not load the dashboard unfiltered.
- Panewell only shows https pages from hosts your admin allows. Values are encoded so they can never change the host or add parameters, and the sidebar itself refuses to load frames from any other host.
Frames load straight from your BI tool with no referrer. Agents see what that tool lets them see: with login-based links (Looker, Power BI secure embed, Tableau Cloud, Metabase or Grafana sign-in) each agent signs in with their own account.
Signed embedding that needs a server-side secret (Metabase static embeds, Looker signed URLs, Power BI Embedded tokens, Tableau connected apps) is not supported; Panewell explains this when you paste such a link.
Plan (billed monthly by Zendesk)
Standard: $5 per agent per month. Every BI tool, every place, tabs, conditions, link buttons and the live preview. No limit on dashboards. 14-day trial; Zendesk asks for a card at install and billing starts when the trial ends unless you uninstall.
Your data
Panewell runs entirely in your browser inside Zendesk. There is no Great Work server, no account to create and no API token to paste. It reads the ticket, user or organization on screen through Zendesk, builds the dashboard link, and your browser loads that link from the BI host you allowed. The only thing that leaves Zendesk is the link you set up, with the values you chose to filter by (for example the requester's external ID). Panewell stores only your panel settings, in the app's own settings in your Zendesk. It sends nothing to Great Work or anyone else (not even usage statistics), keeps no copies of customer data, offers no export, and uses no AI.

Installatie-instructies
Install Panewell from the Zendesk Marketplace and choose the Standard plan. The 14-day trial starts now; Zendesk asks for a card and starts billing when the trial ends unless you uninstall.
- Under Role restrictions, limit the app to the roles or groups who should see dashboards if you like. There are no other settings to fill in here.
- Open Panewell from the left navigation bar (admins see a Set up tab). Click New panel, give it a tab name and paste the link from your BI tool's share or embed dialog. When Panewell asks, allow the dashboard's host: only allowed hosts are ever shown.
- Add a filter, for example
customer_id= Customer: external ID, choose where it shows (ticket, user or organization sidebar, or the Panewell page) and its height, then enter a ticket number and click Preview to see exactly what agents will see. Click Save panel.
Panewell creates nothing in your account at install. Panels and allowed hosts are stored in the app's own settings and are removed when you uninstall.
