How It Works
When a ticket is created or viewed, the BambooHR app retrieves the requester's email address from Zendesk and uses it to look up a matching employee record in BambooHR. The app displays the employee details in the Zendesk ticket sidebar in real time and does not store that employee data in Zendesk.
Data Handling & Privacy
This app transmits requester email addresses from Zendesk to BambooHR to look up matching employee records and display employee details in the Zendesk ticket sidebar. Data transmitted may include employee name, job title, department, location, manager, work phone, employment status, and employee status. All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. No data is stored outside of your Zendesk and BambooHR accounts. For more information, see the BambooHR General Privacy Notice.

Installatie-instructies
Getting started is easy! Just follow these steps to install and connect the BambooHR app in Zendesk.
- Click Install.
- Select the Zendesk account where you want to install the app, then click Install.
- On the app settings screen, enter your BambooHR subdomain in both the
bamboohrCompanyDomainandOAuth Authenticationfields. For example, if your BambooHR URL isyourcompany.bamboohr.com, enter onlyyourcompany. - Click Sign in with BambooHR. You’ll be redirected to BambooHR to securely authenticate and authorize Zendesk to access your account via OAuth. Review the requested access scopes, then click Allow Access.
- After authorization, you’ll return to the app settings screen in Zendesk. Click Install to complete the setup.
🎉 That’s it! The BambooHR app is now active, and employee details will automatically appear in the ticket sidebar for new and existing tickets. Don't forget to pin the app to the sidebar for quick and easy access!
