Free dark mode that follows your visitors' system

ZenTheme Nightfall shows your Help Center in dark when a visitor's device prefers dark, and in light when it doesn't. There is nothing to configure and no toggle to build, and the right mode is applied before first paint, so there is no flash on load. It is free.

Midnight blue, with your brand color carried in

Dark mode uses a calm midnight-blue palette instead of flat black. Pick your brand color once in theme settings: Nightfall lifts it for dark mode so buttons, links and accents stay readable, without a second set of colors to maintain.

The Graphite look

Precision over decoration: hairline rules, numbered and ruled lists, monospace labels and a calm, dense layout that keeps a Help Center easy to scan.

Built for finding and reading

• ⌘K search. A keyboard-first palette opens from any page and finds articles and actions.
• Table of contents on articles. An "On this page" list sits beside the article, with section navigation on the left and a follow button on top.
• Every page follows the mode. Home, categories, sections, articles, community and request forms all switch together.

Checked, and ready for 2027

Tested with axe-core (WCAG A and AA rules): no serious or critical issues on the main page types, in both light and dark. Nightfall runs on Templating API v4, the version Zendesk requires for all themes by July 31, 2027, so there is no forced migration ahead of you.
